A unique approach to medication

Medication may be a part of your Weight Health care plan - but it’s seldom the first step. Your care team will start by making sure you have a strong foundation in nutrition, movement, and lifestyle habits. That’s because weight loss medications work best when paired with lasting behavior changes.

Can I get weight loss medications through the Weight Health Program?

Before prescribing any medication, your doctor and care team will assess your health, weight history, and other conditions. You’ll also complete a lifestyle, nutrition, and movement program.
As part of your personalized care plan, Weight Health doctors can prescribe medications for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or thyroid dysfunction, as well as weight loss. Depending on your needs, you may be eligible for a generic option or a GLP-1 medication, when clinically appropriate. Not everyone who requests a prescription will qualify.

Eligibility for GLP-1s

GLP-1 medications may be approved for people with:

  •  A BMI of 30 or higher, or

  • A BMI of 27 or higher with certain weight-related conditions

Because everyone’s needs are different, your care team will work closely with you to find the safest and most effective approach for your health and goals.
